Benefit & Silent Auction Fundraiser for Mia Thinnes

Mia is 6 years old and recently had surgery to remove a cancerous tumor that was pushing against her brain stem. She is the daughter of Troy & Julie Thinnes, and will be a 1st grader at Miller Elementary. She has an 8 year old sister, Hannah, and a twin sister, Grace.
Proceeds raised will go towards helping the Thinnes family offset medical costs in addition to everyday living expenses. A special account – the MIA THINNES BENEFIT FUND – has been established through Gate City Bank. Donations can be made at any time on the family’s behalf at all Gate City Bank locations.

Nobody likes to ask for money, but when the cause is good and just, the asking gets a little bit easier. We write this letter to ask you to prayerfully consider making a donation to a very important cause. This summer, a 6 year old member of our parish, Mia Thinnes, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. The family has and will continue to accrue large expenses for medical treatment and travel. Our goal is to alleviate some of those expenses and band together to support this wonderful family.
On Wednesday, September 29th, there will be a benefit for Mia and her family at Corpus Christi Church. The evening will consist of a spaghetti supper, root beer floats, silent auction, bake sale, and inflatable’s donated by Fun on the Run Amusement. We are excited to host a fun evening for the family as well as show our support and encouragement to them as they journey through this difficult time.
How can you help? First, please pray for Mia’s healing and the strength of her and her family members to fight this illness. Second, if you are moved please consider making a donation to this worthy cause. We will accept monetary donations, baked goods to be sold at the bake sale, or items for the silent auction.

Spaghetti Dinner – 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Silent Auction – 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Inflatable’s - 3:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Baked Goods 4:00 – 9:00 p.m. or when gone
