Advanced Clinical Specialist requires a master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or other master’s degree approved by the ND Board of Counseling Examiners, and licensure as an LICSW (Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker) or LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor); OR a doctorate in Psychology and licensure as a Psychologist by the ND Board of Psychologist Examiners.

If unable to find fully-licensed candidates, will consider underfilling this position with a Human Relations Counselor (4142), which requires a master’s degree in social work, counseling, couples/marriage and family therapy or other master’s degree approved by the ND Board of Counselor Examiners, and licensure or eligibility for licensure as a LCSW (Licensed Certified Social Worker) or licensure as a LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor).   Applicants hired at this level must be eligible to obtain North Dakota advanced licensure as a LPCC or LICSW within six months of employment.

Qualified applicants must have ability to work with people, possess excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills; ability to handle multiple tasks, and experience using general office equipment and computer skills. Preference given to applicants who are familiar with person centered/recovery model services, to those who have skills in providing evidenced based services, and to those who display cultural awareness to the populations of consumers they will be working with.

Summary of Work:

Essential job functions include conducting clinical assessments/intakes; providing a range of therapeutic interventions with an emphasis on individual, family, and group therapy; and providing after hours emergency services on a rotation basis. This position may also involve some evening hours as well as various outreach opportunities.  As an Advanced Clinical Specialist and a qualified mental health professional, will seek out and accept clinical cases that require a high degree of clinical and interpersonal skills to address complex multi-problem cases.
